About Violet Wand Electrodes
Product Information - Product Support

Our electrodes are made of a medical grade borosilicate glass, and have a 5,000 psi edge breaking strength.   They have rounded stainless steel 7/16" endcaps that match the endcaps on our body contact probes and lightbulb adaptor, saturator rod electrode, etc.  (we don't hand-cut endcaps off pipestock with a dremel tool as most do; our insertion endcaps are the real deal and professionally manufactured.  You won't wear out your violet wand's collet with our super smooth, no-corrosion stainless steel endcaps.)

We do electrode gas for regular electrodes in 5 colors: Purple, Red, Orange, Pink and Blue.  Some electrodes have two colors of gas. All of our electrodes are handblown with a combination of torch and pipe glass blowing.  They are allowed to temper to cool for 48 hours.  Then they are evacuated and filled with a noble gas mix that gets excited and glows when you pass electricity through it. Then they are sealed, then cooled again.  Finally, we assemble the endcaps to the electrodes with an inert non-flammable compound.

Violet wand electrodes all have different output strength and different uses, which means they have different sensations.  We give you the relative intensity level of each of our electrodes so you know what to expect from their sensation.

Getting your electrode:

  • NEVER twist a violet wand electrode in or out.  ALWAYS push it in and pull it out with a straight motion.  It could pull the endcap right off, (meaning you have to send your wand for servicing to have it removed) or it could weaken the gas seal and suddenly you have a leaking electrode.  That goes for all violet wand electrodes.
  • NEVER jam them in the wand.  Just insert them far enough to seat them comfortably.  Again, you can weaken the bond between the glass and the endcap which can detach the endcap and leak the electrode.
  • If the electrode works when you received it, its not defective.  Please see the two items above.
  • Wash with warm soapy water, or scald with boiling water if they have come into contact with fluids.  You can use alcohol on the glass portion, but allow to dry thoroughly before using. (violet wands ignite flammable liquids)
  • If your electrode scratches, it may be just fine to use as long as the gas hasn't leaked.  You can remove fine scratches with toothpaste or glass polishing compounds.
  • For deeper scratches, just be careful not to put to put too much pressure on the electrode that will stress it.  We don't recommend using fillers, as they could be flammable.
