Phosphor electrodes are made with an interior coating of electroluminescent phosphors, which means the glass coating glows when it’s excited by electricity.
This layer of phosphor makes these electrodes glow incredibly bright, up to 5x as bright as regular noble gas electrodes in which the gas is excited and glows.
With the interior coating, phosphor electrodes not only glow brighter, but they make for a stronger spark. Plus, they have a great crackling sound. Huge visuals, stronger spark, and a spine-tingling sound.

I own both the blue and the green one. The one I have isn’t quite the same blue as the picture, but it works well.

It's pretty to look at, but there is a bunch of GUNK inside that's very noticeable when you turn it on. The color also isn't uniform from start to tip like the green .
Customer service note: the 'gunk' is the phosphor coating inside that makes it glow.

Hands down, my favorite electrode. Very bright, casts long sparks, and a great attention getter. Unfortunately, very fragile glass walls. I’ll be handling the next one with kid-gloves.
