Foam Handled Extension Cable for Violet Wands
This extension cable is a cable for Violet Wands similar to the Body Contact Cable, which is one of the most popular Violet Wand accessories. Body Contacts make Indirect and Reverse Violet Wand techniques possible.
The Foam Handled Extension Cable allows you to extend your reach with your Violet Wand using Direct techniques for some freedom of motion.
When you hold the handle of this Extension Cable, you will be able use a direct Violet Wand electrode in the handle, and deliver the Violet Wand current to the electrode that you use, without becoming part of the electrical circuit yourself.
Like all Violet Wand cables, some electricity will come through the cable if you touch it.
This is because of the nature of violet wand current, which will travel through most materials, even leather. Violet Wand current will even travel through something as large as a person’s body.
You can see this effect in Indirect where you electrify your own touch by holding onto a Body Contact cable and using your own fingertips to deliver the sparks.
To Use:
Turn off your wand or unplug it. Insert the jack end of the Extension Cable into your wand. Choose your electrode and insert it into the socket end of the handle.
Hold onto the foam handle with a loose grip, like an artist’s paintbrush rather than a tennis racket.
Now you can turn on your Violet Wand and adjust to desired setting.
Results:
The Extension cable’s purpose is to allow you to get some reach for flexibility of motion. Depending upon the make of your device AND the electrodes you use, results for the Extension Cable will vary widely. The Extension Cable is made for devices defined as violet wands which have a minimum 35kv output.
- Highest wand operating current results in best cable results.
- Metal electrodes have better cable results than glass electrodes.
All cables lose some current over their length and in their connections and the cable will naturally not provide an electrode with the same output as it does when it is used directly in a Violet Wand.
Output that is low is not a defect of the cable, but is directly related to the quality and power of the wand you use to power it, plus the electrodes you are using, and additionally, the adjustment output setting of your wand.
Troubleshooting Notes
- ‘Beauty type’ devices will not have the power to operate the Extension cable at all. These devices are not supported.
- If your cable touches anything while you use it, such as table legs or surfaces, vw current may draw through the cable and to the table, table legs or anywhere else. This will pull it from the delivery end and the output current will be decreased. Cables should be held away from any surfaces.
- If testing cable final output, do not use on yourself as you can feedback to affect results. Insert electrode, make sure cable is not touching any surfaces, and bring electrode close to a metal object to see visible spark output.
- If cable delivers no spark output at all from a defined or supported wand spec, it is defective. It may be returned for exchange. Please enter a help ticket through your web account after logging in.
Accidental Spark
Violet Wand current, like all electricity, travels to the nearest conductive object. Sparks will come out of either end of the foam handle and jump to your hand if your hand gets too close to either end.
So hold the handle with a finger tip grip and keep away from either end of the foam.
Violet Wands and related devices made by different manufacturers may have slight variations even though they are all 7/16”.
Since most Violet Wand collets hold accessories and electrodes into the wand with a friction grip, can splay over time.
This extension cable is precision manufactured to 7/16” with a +/- .001 inch tolerance, which is very low.
If this Extension Cable does not fit well into your Violet Wand, see your manufacturer instructions for adjusting your wand collet. Even a .001 inch can make a difference in fit.
Adjust As Needed.
You can also make a minor adjustment to the jack end of this Extension Cable by applying pressure to the very tip of the silver end cap with a pair of pliers.
You do not want to make more than a .001 inch adjustment, about the width of this line shown here: |
More Range and Freedom
This Extension Cable will allow you to lay your wand on a table while you use your favorite Violet Wand electrodes, allowing you to play longer without tiring and keeping your wand out of the way.
It is hand manufactured in the USA by people who understand and use Violet Wands and want to help you get the most out of your Violet Wand experiences.
Since it is hand manufactured, they may have minor variations or manufacturing marks. These are cosmetic only, and do not affect performance!
