Violet Wand Accessories that go directly into the Violet Wand are very numerous and varied.

So are Violet Wands.  So are manufacturers, makes and models of wands.

While American Standard size is 7/16″, sometimes a difference that is as small this line:  |  will make a noticeable difference in fit.

We precision manufacture our endcaps for all our electrodes and accessories to 7/16″ with a +/- .01 inch tolerance.

That is super precise, and is only 1/100ths of an inch variation!  We have the most precise accessory endcaps in the industry.  In fact, our fit on our endcaps is so precise, it never varies more than the width of this line:  |

Your direct accessory that inserts into the wand, is held in place in the Violet Wand nosecone by friction.

Important!

Do not jam or force accessories into your Violet Wand!  This will pull off your end caps when you try to remove them.

Insert your accessory into the Violet Wand just until it is just held in place.

Using excessive force will also splay your Violet Wand collet so that other accessories and electrodes will have fit problems.

While some vendors have cut stock tubing, our electrodes have a completely smooth and rounded surface to better work with the friction grip of Violet Wand collets.

Adjusting Your Violet Wand Collet:

If you find your accessories are getting loose over time and seem to not fit your collet it is recommended that you adjust your wand collet.

Wand collets can splay from use, since they use a friction grip and repeated pushing of electrodes and accessories, especially of the cut tube type or if they are a little larger than tolerance, can stretch your collet just a hair, which may be enough to cause fit problems.  There is a reason that glass electrodes have a rounded end – the cut tube type accessories can cause excess splay in the fingers of wand collets, over what they should bear.  Your wand collet fit needs to be mid-range of all the manufacturer tolerances.

Adjusting Your Violet Wand Collet is Part of Your Toy Maintenance.

So, you should learn how to do it!  If you are experiencing a fit problem with an accessory, it is recommended that you adjust your wand collet first and foremost to bring it back into spec to be mid-range of all the manufacturing tolerances so to accept all electrodes and accessories.  Please see the article on adjusting your wand collet so that it accepts all your accessories.  When adjusted properly, a wand collet will accept all 7/16″ manufacturer tolerances.  Smaller than tolerance electrodes and accessories will then fit toward the bottom reach of the collet, and larger than tolerance electrodes and accessories will fit toward the top reach of the collet, and the collet will be able to hold all 7/16″ accessories and electrodes and account for manufacturing tolerances.  Exact 7/16″ (+/- .000″) will fit toward the center reach of the collet.

If you find you have an accessory that is giving you some trouble due to being at the high end of the machine tolerance and you feel that you do not need to adjust your wand collet (i.e., you have many accessories and are happy with their fit overall, or you have mostly cut tube type accessories and do not want to make adjustments to your wand collet, then you can adjust your lone accessory.

To Adjust Your Violet Wand Accessory or Electrode:

Use a pair of pliers and place the teeth of the pliers toward the VERY TIP of the endcap of the accessory.  Using a steady downward pressure, you want to adjust your accessory only this much :  |

Yes, that is the adjustment you are looking for.  It is better to adjust too little than adjust too much so apply a light pressure at first, and test for fit.  Then try again, increasing pressure SLIGHTLY each time.  You will never need to adjust more than the width of this line at one time:  |

Your adjustment may create a tiny cosmetic dimple in the tip of the endcap.  Since the recommended remedy for fit is to adjust your wand collet to mid-range in order to encompass the range of manufacturer tolerance variations, choosing to adjust your accessory is at your own risk.

We clearly indicate we sell 7/16″ accessories and electrodes and post our machine tolerance value.  Since have the smallest machine tolerance variation in the industry (less than 1/100ths of an inch) we do not take returns on our accessories for ‘fit’.

Adjusting Your Violet Wand Accessory

Some wand manufacturers will recommend a drop of solder to build up an endcap surface that is under tolerance, or to create temporary shims of aluminum foil.  You may also adjust your wand accessory.  Sometimes while manufacturing an accessory that uses an endcap, the endcap can become out of round as well, and these are also candidates for adjustment.
