What is a Violet Wand Collet and why do I need to adjust it?

How And Why to Adjust Your Violet Wand Collet.

We Have The Highest Machine Manufacturing Standard On End Caps In The Violet Wand Market Today.

Precision manufactured to 7/16″ +/- <.5mm, that is a manufacturing tolerance that is only the diameter of a human hair.  This is unprecedented quality and precision sizing among Violet Wand companies.

Our endcaps are straight sided and smooth, with a seamless rounded tip so they will not cause undue splaying to your Violet Wand collet, and will not scratch its inside walls.

Using our electrodes and accessories means fewer adjustments and constant, perfect fit.

Solid State / Electronic Violet Wands Have A Socket Which Holds The Electrodes, And The Electrodes Insert All The Way.

But a heavy duty TESLA, or traditional Violet Wand collet, holds electrodes with a friction grip. So the harder you push in an electrode, the tighter it grips.

It is possible to push your electrode in so hard that you break the electrode or pull off the end cap when removing it, so insert electrodes just until they are gripped, and never force or jam them in!

Putting pressure like this on your Violet Wand collet can also cause it to become splayed, so there may be times you may want to adjust your Violet Wand collet.

If You Look Down Into The Nose, You May See Four Metal Fingers That Make Up The Wand’s Collet.

The collet is the piece that holds the parts in, and the fingers provide the ‘friction grip’.  These fingers can splay slightly over time or if you use slightly too large parts in it or especially if you push accessories too far in.  Your Violet Wand also may not have received precision factory adjustment if it is new.

Using a very small but sturdy flat blade precision screwdriver, peer down into your Violet Wand’s nosecone.  Work the blade of the screwdriver between one collet finger at a time and the inside wall of the wand.

On some wands this might be tight to do that, especially if you have a wand that definitely needs adjusted.  But, a little wiggling, and using the thinnest precision screwdriver that you can find, will help you out.

You Want To Adjust Just One Collet Finger Inward By Just The Width Of One Human Hair.

Then test fit, as you might adjust again, but never adjust more at one time than one human hair.

You should have fit again with a small number of adjustments, usually within 1-3 adjustments.

If needed, you can adjust more than one collet finger.

Violet Wand Collet Adjustment Is Part Of Your Wand’s Maintenance.

And, adjusting your wand is easily done.

If you use lesser quality rough cut, hand cut or other type homemade accessories in a Violet Wand, such as some smaller vendors sell at fetish events, you definitely will splay the collet and need to adjust your wand more frequently.

While You’re At It, Keep An Eye On The Nut That Holds Your Violet Wand Collet In Place Down Inside The Nosecone.

Twisting your electrodes while inserting or removing, can loosen this nut.

Make sure it’s present and on tight, otherwise you will lose your collet and have to replace it!
