I received a piece that had a defect sharp enough that it cut my hand while removing it. I contacted the store and they told me that it is not a defect, and every piece has it, so they won’t replace it. They suggested that I use a nail file to grind down the sharp part.
No one should ever try to modify GLASS with a nail file, or anything else.
So buy this if you want to waste money on something that will cut you every time you attempt to use it. I would not trust this company enough to buy from them.

Hello Emma! We’re sorry that there may be a misunderstanding with the Helix Electrode. The little tip that comes off the one coil is part of the manufacturing process for which we have no control over unfortunately. These are very intricately wound glass tubes, and as part of the manufacturing process, there needs to be an opening for which the glass is poured into the mold. Every other glass electrode we have is able to be produced by filling the mold on the endcap side, but due to the nature of this electrode, this is an impossible task. That being said, since it is part of the manufacturing process, we do not deem it a defect, since it’s operating as intended.
Another unfortunate byproduct of glass is that it has the potential to cut you. Be it a drinking glass, a windowpane, or a Violet Wand Electrode. There’s simply an inherent risk of glass breaking. However, if your electrode was broken in this manner, we’d be more than happy to replace it for you.

This electrode is BEAUTIFUL… the colors are actually really vivid and it has a decent zap to it. My only concern is that the one I received seems to have a manufacturing flaw or two. There’s an internal crack near the metal connector and there’s a large “snaggy” bit of glass hanging off the finished end that wasn’t trimmed properly when made. I will absolutely try and get it returned or replaced because this electrode is a definite SHOWPIECE!!
